Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Gullwing supercoupe
Mercedes-Benz introduced the SLS AMG, a Gullwing coupe inspired by the original from decades ago. The beautiful sportscar is powered by a 6.3-liter V8 engine, good for 571 bhp. It uses a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
The performance of the car is what you might expect from a car like this. The Gullwing model accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.8 seconds and has a top speed of 317 km/h (197 mph) (electronically limited). The fuel consumption of 13.2 litres per 100 kilometres (combined) is best-in-class. The weight is just 1.620 kg due to the aluminium space frame.

It your don’t want be a fuel consumer, you might want to wait for the electric version of the Mercedes-Benz SLS to come out. This may even be a serious competitor for the fuel version. The electrically driven Gullwing model accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in around 4 seconds, putting it on the same high level as the SLS AMG with a 6.3-litre V8 engine.
The reinterpretation of the Gullwing model will celebrate its market launch in spring 2010. The price will be 177,310 euros (incl. 19% VAT). Us prices are yet to be announced.
