Fiber optics offer great possibilities for the creative minds, but it’s a difficult technology to understand. The fiber-optic Kurage Lamp designed by Sschemata Architects is a really nice piece of art. Using an optical fiber, these cool lighting fixtures offer a futuristic element to any room.

Since the Kurage is composed of optical fiber, it can be made in different shapes. The amount of illumination depends on te size of the cords, meaning that thinner size gives less illumination and thicker gives more. The brightness can be adjusted by the size of the curve.

By bending the optical fiber, the whole area is illuminated outside of the immediate area of the light. This way, the Kurage lamp provides any room with a soft, cool and ambient lighting.
