HTC Hero is new Android based phone with Sense

HTC has revealed the HTC Hero, its newest smartphone. It’s the world’s first Android-based mobile phone with a customized user interface called “HTC Sense”.

The Hero is optimized for the Web and comes with full Adobe Flash support enabling watching Youtube video’s in the browser. It includes a 3.2″ HVGA display. The white model Hero even includes a Teflon coating resulting in a durable white surface that is soft to the touch.

The exterior is a little different from it’s competitors, since the Hero has a little ‘chin’  which bends a bit towards the front.

Further specificions are GPS, digital compass, gravity-sensor, 3.5mm stereo headset jack, a 5 mega-pixel autofocus camera and expandable MicroSD memory. There’s also a dedicated search button, which lets you search through Twitter, your contact list, your inbox, or anywhere else within the phone. The Sense function is built around three main pillars: Make it Mine, Stay Close and Discover the Unexpected.

The HTC Hero will be available to people across Europe in July and in Asia later in the summer. A distinct North American version will be available later in 2009.
